Walking into your first Scalp Micropigmentation session can feel a bit nerve-wracking.

Let's clear the air and set honest, realistic expectations so you can walk in with absolute confidence. With over 5 years of clinical experience here in Vancouver, British Columbia, I make sure we focus on quality and patient care first. Your first appointment is about building a solid, precise foundation, not rushing to complete the entire masterpiece.

Phase 1: Hairline Mapping & Design

Before a single dot of pigment is placed, we spend a significant amount of time designing your look together:

  •   Custom Hairline Drawing: I use specialized measuring tools to sketch a custom hairline that fits your unique facial structure, age, and personal style.

  •   Pigment Shade Matching: I evaluate your skin undertones, hair density, and follicle color to custom-blend the perfect carbon-based pigment shade.

  •   The Final Sign-off: We do not start until you are 100% satisfied with the hand-drawn shape. Quality is extremely important for us, and you are in full control of the design.

Phase 2: The Treatment Process

Once we begin, here is what actually happens:

  •   First-Layer Foundation: This session focuses on laying down a light background density. This acts as the baseline layer that we will build upon in sessions two and three.

  •   Manageable Discomfort: Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching or mild stinging—highly tolerable and far less painful than a traditional body tattoo.

  •   Immediate (but Soft) Results: You will leave our clinic with a visible, framed hairline, though the dots will appear slightly darker and redder initially before settling.

Your first session at SMP Vancouver typically takes between 2 to 4 hours. It is a relaxed, patient process where your satisfaction is our priority. Your only regret? Not doing it sooner.

Ready to Take the First Step? Don't let the unknown hold you back from restoring your hairline.
